North came away with three wins and three losses over the weekend. The Phil Scott Colts kicked off a great day at home with a commanding performance against Wanneroo. North dominated the game and set the tone for the A Reserves and League teams. The Colts ran out comfortable winners: North 8-4 (52) Wanneroo 3-10 (28).
A Reserves returned to putting on a masterclass performance which saw them dominate throughout the game. The further the game went; the further North went in front. Ultimately North deservedly ran out big winners: North 18-12 (120) to Wanneroo 3-10 (28).
To round off the day and spark up Ladies Night, the League also ran out comfortable winners: 12- 16 (88) to Wanneroo 5-3 (33). The game was below par in first half, allowing the opposition opportunity to be right in the game. Inaccuracy at goal also let us. This changed later as the League began to turn on their strong game and break away from their opposition with more confident and quicker ball movement. It was a tough win for North, but an important one as it consolidates North on the ladder, with five wins from six games. Well done to all concerned.
Our away teams found the going, hard, with all three sides losing. Brett Jones Colts travelled all the way to Swan Athletic and gave it their best shot. Always hard to win up there, no matter which team goes there! Despite going down, the Colts put up a valiant performance and once again, pared back the losing margin. North 5-1 (31) Swan Athletic 11-16 (82) Both D Grade teams fared similarly, losing by some twenty odd points against CBC. The effort and endeavour were good, against good opposition. Both North and CBC are expected to do reasonably well as season progresses. Keep it up lads, both on field and at training. D League 5-5 (35) CBC 11.5 (71); D1 Reserves 4-6 (30) CBC 7-8 (50).
A huge thank you to Macca and his team in organising another sensational Ladies Night. It looked like everyone had a great time! Many thanks to all the helpers in setting up, providing silver service hospitality to the Ladies' Marquis, running the bar, providing security, music, helping generally and enabling everyone to have a fabulous time!! Well done!
