President Report Round 9: 9 June 2018

The fine weather brought with it a fresh start for the second half of season 2018, with five NFAFC wins out of 6 games! It also celebrated Chris Vost's 300th game for North!  An outstanding performance!

The highlight of the round was the huge victory by the League!  With players returning North were able to swing into their own style of football to dominate the game.  Great to see the boys back to their best!  It was truly a very good team performance with strong defence, quick midfield and multiple goal scorers: North 17-11 (113)  Maddington 6-9 (45)  The win puts north into second place on the ladder!  Congratulations to all!  Keep it up lads!  Again, the Reserves just keep rolling on with another strong win that leaves them undefeated, at the top of the ladder:  North 9-10 (64)  Maddington 6-9 (45). Maintain the rage boys!  Congratulations to all!

The Drew Banfield Colts knew there was only one acceptable outcome in their game against Forrestdale.  That was a win to put them back into finals contention. This the lads did, in a very close encounter, with great spirit and determination.  North 7-7 (49)  Forrestdale 6-7 (43).  Terrific to see the team back on the winners list!  Well done lads!  The Brett Jones Colts were challenged early, but their faith in each other and teamwork saw them kick clear and move further ahead as the game went on, bringing up two wins in a row!  North 10 -16 (76)  Swan Athletic 4-9 (33).  A good win lads!  Well done!

North D1 League continued the winning streak at home against Curtin University Wesley.  Early stages of the game saw the closest margins as both teams tried to dominate.  The pressure was intense and the clashes fierce!  However, the longer the game went the further North kicked away and were totally dominant.  The result was a very good outcome, given injuries depleted the bench, but the lads continued to push on and rean out comfortable winners:  North 11-4 (70)  Curtin Uni Wesley 7-9 (51).  Congratulations to all!

Unfortunately the D1 Reserves were unable to pul off a win for coach Chris Vost who played his 300th game on the weekend.  Their opponents, Curtin University Wesley, compiled of recent past A Grade players were just too good and showed why they are comfortably on top of the ladder.  Regardless, North continued to fight on, right up to the final siren.  North 1-1 (7)   Curtin Uni Wesley 18-12 (120).  The highlight of the day was definitely Vosty's 300 game mark!  Everyone got right behind him and despite the big loss, showed their respect and support for a true club champion!  Well done Vosty!
