Last Saturday, 5 August, the North Fremantle Amateur Football Club honoured Glenn Stephens with the 'Bar to NFAFC Life Membership' in recognition of many years of dedicated Club support. Glenn has been a great servant of the Club for over 35 years. In this time he took on just about every possible position to ensure success of the Club, both on field and off field. On field Glenn was an outstanding player and leader, as well as taking on coaching positions, including Senior Coach and supporting teams through his structured Coaching Committees;not to mention his belief and support for Colts development and transition to senior football. His leadership brought success and set standards which are still an important part of NFAFC today. Off field Glenn took on a wide range of responsibilities for many years, including: Committee Member and Executive Positions; Vice President and President; WAAFL Delegate; and the Strategic Development leader who shaped the plans which underpin the modern Club today and earned NFAFC the Gold Level Football Club Award. In fact North was the only Club to do so!
Glenn has been an absolute stalwart to the Club. His contributions have been enormous and his work tireless. Glenn is an inspiration to us all! He is just a great leader, great friend, and great supporter and Club icon. Glenn now joins an elite group of four who have been honoured with a 'Bar to Life Membership: the late Laurie Tetley; Baden Pratt; Peter Grosser; and now, Glenn Stephens. After almost a Century of North history, this honour is truly special and for special people! On behalf of the North Fremantle Amateur Football Club I sincerely congratulate Glenn! He is now a permanent part of the rich history, tradition and culture which makes NFAFC such a wonderful Club!
